Together, the four of them cover a broad range of dental expertise, including pediatric care, periodontal services, dental sleep medicine, and oral surgery.

Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry That Works for You

At HB Dental Studio, we believe great dental care should feel as good as it looks. Our cosmetic and restorative services are designed to meet you where you are. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, has helped Huntington Beach patients care for their smiles since 1971, and that depth of experience shapes every treatment we offer.

We take the time to understand what you want, what concerns you, and what fits your life. No pressure, no rushing. Just real, thoughtful care.

What Cosmetic and Restorative Treatment Can Change

Many patients think dental work is only about fixing problems. The truth is, it can also rebuild confidence, improve function, and change how you feel about your smile every single day. Cosmetic and restorative procedures performed by Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS often work hand in hand to deliver results that look natural and last.

Here’s what we commonly help patients address:

  • Difficulty chewing or biting due to structural damage
  • Self-consciousness about smiling in photos or social settings
  • Teeth that have shifted or changed shape over time
  • Sensitivity caused by exposed or damaged enamel
  • A smile that no longer reflects how you feel inside

Treatments That Match Your Goals

Our team offers a wide range of options, including teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, bridges, and dental implants. Each plan is built around you, your comfort level, your timeline, and the results you’re hoping for. Every visit is designed to feel calm and straightforward.

  • Clear aligner therapy for discreet teeth straightening
  • Periodontal treatment to support a healthy foundation
  • Dental bonding as a fast, effective fix for surface damage
  • Implants that function and feel like natural teeth
  • Full smile makeovers combining multiple procedures

Ready to get started? Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS is happy to sit down with you, review your options, and put together a plan that fits your life.

Invisalign Treatment That Fits Your Life

Straightening your teeth doesn’t have to mean metal brackets or wires. Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners custom-made to gradually shift your teeth into place. Each set is nearly invisible, so most people around you won’t even notice you’re in treatment.

We use advanced 3D imaging and digital scanning to map your smile from the very start. This lets Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS build a precise treatment plan and even show you a preview of your expected results before treatment begins.

What Most People Get Wrong About Clear Aligners

A lot of patients assume Invisalign is only for minor cosmetic fixes. That’s not the case. Today’s clear aligner technology addresses a wide range of alignment concerns that used to require traditional braces. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, and our team assess each patient individually to find out if Invisalign is the right fit.

  • Teeth that have gradually shifted after previous orthodontic work
  • Functional bite issues that affect chewing or jaw comfort
  • Spacing problems that make proper cleaning difficult
  • Alignment concerns tied to jaw tension or uneven wear
  • Cases that once required lengthy traditional orthodontic treatment

Staying Comfortable Throughout Treatment

One of the biggest advantages of Invisalign is how easily it fits into daily life. The aligners are smooth, lightweight, and removable, meaning you take them out to eat, brush, and floss as usual. At HB Dental Studio, we make sure every aligner fits correctly so your experience stays as comfortable as possible.

  • Periodic check-ins to monitor progress and refine your plan
  • Replacement aligners available if one is lost or damaged
  • Retainer guidance provided once active treatment wraps up
  • Attachments used selectively to improve movement accuracy
  • Digital previews updated to reflect your progress over time

A quick consultation with Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS is all it takes to find out if it’s the right path for your smile. Invisalign works best for patients who stay consistent, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Veneers That Transform the Way You See Your Smile

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin bonded directly to the front surface of your teeth. They’re one of the most versatile options in cosmetic dentistry, able to change the color, shape, size, or length of a tooth in just a couple of visits. If chipped edges, deep staining, or uneven spacing have been bothering you, veneers offer a lasting solution.

At our practice, we take a personalized approach to every veneer treatment. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS looks at your facial features, your natural tooth color, and your goals to create results that feel like a natural part of you.

How Veneers Stack Up Against Other Cosmetic Options

Teeth whitening can brighten a smile, but it won’t fix shape or alignment. Bonding is a faster fix, though it may not hold up as long. Veneers sit in a category of their own. They address multiple concerns at once and are crafted from materials designed to resist staining and daily wear. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, helps patients weigh all options so they can choose what makes the most sense for their smile.

  • Veneers are stain-resistant in a way that natural enamel is not
  • Porcelain reflects light similarly to a real tooth for a natural look
  • Composite veneers can often be placed in a single visit
  • Porcelain veneers are custom shaded to blend with surrounding teeth
  • Less enamel removal is required compared to a full crown

Getting Ahead of Smile Concerns Before They Grow

Small chips and surface cracks tend to get worse over time. Veneers not only improve appearance, they add a layer of protection to teeth that have already experienced some wear. Addressing these issues early often means less invasive treatment down the road.

Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, and our team assess the health of each tooth before recommending veneers to make sure the underlying structure is sound.

  • Suitable for patients with mild bite issues after careful review
  • Can be placed after orthodontic treatment is complete
  • Pairs well with other cosmetic procedures for a complete refresh
  • Long-term results are supported by regular maintenance visits

If you’ve been thinking about veneers, the best next step is an honest conversation with our team about what’s possible for your specific smile.

Dental Crowns Built to Last and Look Natural

A crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged or weakened tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. We craft each crown using premium materials and digital design technology, so the result blends naturally with your surrounding teeth. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, takes a precise, detail-oriented approach to every restoration we place.

We use digital scanning to take accurate measurements of your tooth, with no messy traditional impressions needed. This means a better fit, less chair time, and a more comfortable experience overall.

Why a Crown May Be the Right Call for Your Tooth

Teeth that are cracked, heavily decayed, or weakened after a root canal often can’t be saved with a filling alone. A crown covers the entire visible portion of the tooth, holding it together and preventing further damage. Many patients are surprised to learn how much a well-placed crown by Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS can change both function and appearance.

  • Stabilizes a tooth that has fractured but hasn’t been lost
  • Restores proper bite alignment on a severely worn tooth
  • Improves the look of a misshapen or deeply discolored tooth
  • Anchors a dental bridge firmly in place
  • Completes a dental implant by serving as the visible tooth

Crowns That Hold Up Through Daily Life

At HB Dental Studio, we select materials designed to handle the real demands of everyday use, including chewing, temperature changes, and years of normal wear. With the right care at home and regular checkups, a crown can last well over a decade. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, and our team guide every patient on how to care for their restoration so it stays in great shape long-term.

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to protect the crown margin
  • A nightguard may be recommended for patients who grind their teeth
  • Avoid using your teeth to open packaging or containers
  • Floss carefully around the crown base to prevent gum inflammation

Don’t wait on a tooth that’s been bothering you. The sooner a crown is placed, the better the chances of preserving what’s left of the natural tooth structure.

Teeth Whitening Results You Can Actually See

Professional teeth whitening delivers a level of brightness that over-the-counter strips and gels simply can’t match. Our professional-grade solutions are formulated to break down deep stains from coffee, tea, wine, and aging, all while keeping sensitivity to a minimum. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, and our team assess your current tooth shade and your goals before recommending a plan that makes sense for you.

We offer two options: in-office treatment for faster, more dramatic results, and custom take-home kits for gradual whitening at your own pace. Either way, the outcome is a noticeably brighter smile.

The Real Difference Between Professional and Store-Bought Whitening

Many patients have tried whitening products from the drugstore before coming to see us. Those products use much lower concentrations of whitening agents and aren’t fitted to your teeth. That means uneven results, increased sensitivity, and slower progress. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, can show you the difference a professionally supervised treatment makes, often in a single visit.

  • Custom trays are fitted to your bite so every surface gets treated evenly
  • Gum barriers are applied to protect soft tissue during in-office treatment
  • Whitening strength is selected based on your sensitivity history
  • In-office sessions are completed in a single appointment
  • Take-home kit instructions are tailored to your specific shade goals

Keeping Your Smile Bright After Treatment

At HB Dental Studio, we don’t just whiten your teeth and send you on your way. We talk through the habits and foods most likely to cause restaining, and we can provide touch-up options to keep your smile looking its best over time. Small adjustments at home go a long way.

  • Drink dark beverages through a straw to reduce surface contact
  • Avoid tobacco products, which cause deep and rapid restaining
  • Choose a whitening-compatible toothpaste recommended by our team
  • Touch-up trays can be used periodically to maintain your results

Whitening is one of the few dental treatments where results are visible almost immediately. If a brighter smile has been on your mind, this is an easy place to start. Call now to schedule your appointment with Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS.

Dental Exams and Cleaning That Keep Problems from Taking Root

Routine dental exams and cleaning appointments are the foundation of a healthy smile. Our hygienists use advanced ultrasonic tools and gentle techniques to clear away plaque and tartar that daily brushing and flossing can’t fully reach. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, has emphasized prevention as a cornerstone of good oral health since opening our Huntington Beach practice in 1971, and that philosophy carries through every cleaning we perform.

We recommend visiting at least once every six months, in line with ADA guidelines. Staying consistent with your schedule is one of the simplest ways to avoid more involved dental issues later on.

What Happens During Your Visit and Why It Matters

A cleaning appointment covers more than just polishing your teeth. We use digital X-rays and intraoral cameras to get a clear picture of what’s happening beneath the surface and between teeth, areas that a visual check alone can’t capture. Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS, reviews your full exam findings and talks through anything that needs attention before it becomes a larger problem.

  • Oral cancer screening performed as part of every routine exam
  • Bite and jaw alignment check to identify signs of grinding or tension
  • Evaluation of existing restorations for wear or failure
  • Personalized home care recommendations based on your current oral health
  • Updated X-rays taken on a schedule appropriate for your risk level

Catching Small Issues Before They Grow

At HB Dental Studio, patients who keep up with regular cleanings tend to need far less restorative work over time. A cavity caught early needs a simple filling. Left undetected, that same cavity can lead to a root canal or crown.

Preventive care also supports your overall health. Research consistently links gum disease to conditions like heart disease and diabetes, making dental visits to Dr. Melvin Cohen, DDS about more than just your teeth.

  • Gum recession is easier to manage after early identification
  • Tartar buildup accelerates if left untreated between visits
  • Children who attend regular cleanings develop stronger oral habits
  • Consistent care reduces the likelihood of dental emergencies

Regular cleanings are one of the most valuable things you can do for your health, and our team makes sure every visit is worth your time.
